The Struggle

If you’ve ever watched your dog scratch non-stop, your cat shake its head like a maniac, or noticed your pet’s paws turning red and inflamed, you know how frustrating (and worrying) skin issues can be. Itchy skin, sore paws, and ear infections are some of the most common reasons pets visit the vet—but they don’t have to be a constant battle.

I’m Sanne, a veterinary surgeon with a background in Dermatology and a Phd in immunology, and I started Skin Paws and Ears to help pet owners like you understand why these issues happen and how to manage them effectively.

Why Skin, Paws, and Ears?

Paws, and ears are closely connected to skin, because, you guessed it, they are covered in it. When one area is affected, the others often follow. A dog with allergies might start by licking its paws, then develop ear infections, and eventually, larger areas of skin become inflamed too. Understanding the root causes of itchy skin is key to breaking the cycle.

Common culprits include:
✔️ Allergies (food, environment, fleas)
✔️ Bacterial & yeast infections
✔️ Parasites (like fleas and mites)
✔️ Underlying health conditions (hormonal imbalances, immune disorders)
